There are many options when considering a new furnace for your home. Not only is this step required by code, it ensures you are not over-or under-sizing the furnace for the required loads of the house—a crucial piece in achieving comfort and extending the life of the equipment. We also assess your duct system to determine whether modifications or replacement is necessary due to the age and condition.

Ac units have a SEER rating, which measures efficiency, and a capacity rating. A 13 SEER ac will cool just as good as a 18 SEER ac from a capacity standpoint. XL17
The Trane XL17 has a SEER rating of up to 17.0 along with a Weather Guard top. With two stages of cooling it can meet any outdoor climate condition and prevent interior temperature swings. This unit will run on 1st stage cooling on an initial call for cooling at 70% capacity. If the thermostat senses full cooling capacity is needed the unit will run at 100% capacity. When running at low cool, the furnace fan also runs at a lower speed. This type of system will run longer on the milder days and result in better dehumidification in the home as well as provide for more even temperatures and less temperature swings.
XR16
The Trane XR16 has a SEER rating of up to 17.0. It’s essentially the same as the XL17 without the special top. XR15
The Trane XR15 is our most popular air conditioner and has a SEER rating of up to 16.0. There are some Ameren incentives available for investing in high efficiency ac units with a minimum SEER rating of 16.0 (15.2 seer2) and EER rating of 12.5 (11.88 seer2). There’s not much of a price difference between the XR15 and the base model XR13, so it’s a no-brainer to do the upgrade.
XR13
The Trane XR13 is our base model air conditioner and has a SEER rating of 13.0. The quality is the same as all the other Trane ac units.
Warranty and Registration
With registration, the XR series of air conditioners will have a 10-year parts, 1-year labor 10 year compressor warranty.
